Mirza Abbas, the candidate from Dhaka-8 constituency and a member of BNP Standing Committee, claimed that a vested quarter is trying to spoil the voting environment by spreading various propaganda.

Addressing the querter, he saud: "Son, if you want to cast vote, do it. But don’t spread any rumours. Tell me what to do in the future for the country. Don’t waste your time gossiping about others. No matter how many sins you commit, there is no need to do this."

He made this comment at an election exchange meeting with traders and flat owners at Aziz Super Market in Shahbagh of the capital on Thursday (January 29).

Mirza Abbas said: "February 12 election is very important for the country. I have suffered a lot for the last 17 years for this elections. Many activists were in jail. Our leader did not receive treatment. I think she was killed by slow poisoning."

This member of the BNP standing committee said that they have protected the right to vote through many sacrifices and said that everyone will go to exercise the right to vote simultaneously. Everyone has the right to vote. But a group is conspiring to take away this right.

Alleging that a group is planning engineering in the election, he said that there are some people in this government, who are still working for Awami League. They want no election and they want BNP not to win the election.

Mentioning that they are trying to harm BNP from abroad, Mirza Abbas said: "Come home if you have courage. Again, their youth wing is now sitting in Dhaka and is talking about various things. Son, vote for the country. Tell me what to do in the future. There is no need to gossip."
