Abdus Salam appointed Dhaka University Pro-VC

Professor Abdus Salam of the Chemistry Department has been appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of Dhaka University.

The appointment was confirmed through a notification issued by the Ministry of Education on Monday, April 13, with the approval of the President and Chancellor of the university.

According to the notification, his appointment will take effect from the date of his joining as Pro-Vice-Chancellor. He will receive salary, allowances and other benefits equivalent to his current position.

He is also required to reside permanently on the university campus, and the President and Chancellor may revoke this appointment at any time if necessary.

Professor Abdus Salam is currently serving as acting Dean of the Faculty of Science at the university. He is also associated with the 'White Panel', a BNP-aligned teachers' organisation, as its joint convener.
