Abu Auwal appointed as President Mirza Fakhrul's private secretary

Md Abu Auwal, joint secretary at the Local Government Division, has been appointed as the private secretary to President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification on Friday (August 21) appointing Abu Auwal to the post.

According to the notification, the appointment took effect immediately upon issuance of the order, with no separate waiting period required for him to assume the new responsibility.

Abu Auwal will assist the president in his official duties and coordinate day-to-day administrative activities and communications of the President's Office.

The notification said his tenure as private secretary will continue for as long as Mirza Fakhrul remains president or until the president decides otherwise.

Abu Auwal, a member of the administration cadre, has held various responsibilities in the government administration during his career. His appointment comes as the new president's office begins assigning officials to key administrative positions following his assumption of office.
