The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an investigation into allegations of irregularities and corruption in the repair of the national parliament's sound system.

This information was given by ACC's Public Relations Department Deputy Director Md. Akhtarul Islam at a media briefing held at the ACC's head office on Thursday.

The anger of the Speaker and members of parliament over the defects in the sound system has been discussed since the first day of the 13th National Parliament. The ACC started the investigation last February to probe into the allegations of irregularities in the sound system installed during the Awami League period and irregularities in the renovations during the interim government.

In this incident, the CEO of the repair company 'Communication Technology Limited', Zahidur Rahim Joardar, and others involved have been accused of embezzling millions of taka and laundering money abroad.
