A formal application has been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) seeking an investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds related to the procurement of measles vaccines and syringes for children.

The complaint names former Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and former Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum, along with other officials, requesting legal action over alleged irregularities and corruption.

The petition was filed with the ACC Chairman by Supreme Court lawyers Biplob Kumar Das and Barrister Sanaullah Nure Sagar on Monday (April 13).

According to the application, recent outbreaks of measles across the country, reportedly causing the deaths of around a hundred children, have raised serious public concern. It alleges that shortages of vaccines and syringes contributed to the spread of the disease.

The complaint further claims that the situation resulted from administrative failures and possible financial irregularities during the previous government’s tenure. It also references public comments and media reports suggesting responsibility of former officials for the crisis.

The ACC has not yet issued an official response regarding the petition.
