The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has prepared and sent the necessary documents to the Home Ministry to bring back former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed, who was arrested by Dubai police in the United Arab Emirates. The ACC finalized a formal request letter and sent it to the ministry on Tuesday.

ACC Deputy Director Md. Hafizul Islam confirmed the matter and said, "The request letter has been prepared and sent to the ministry."

Sources related to the investigation said that the request letter contains information and evidence of various cases against Benazir, including corruption, illegal acquisition of wealth, money laundering and passport fraud. The Home Ministry will send this letter to the Foreign Ministry, which will later reach the UAE government through diplomatic channels.

Meanwhile, two representatives of Interpol's National Central Bureau (NCB) in Dhaka visited the ACC head office on Tuesday to advance the legal and diplomatic process to bring back Benazir. They discussed ongoing cases, arrest warrants, court orders and other documents with ACC officials and received necessary documents.

ACC officials said efforts are underway to bring Benazir Ahmed back to the country under the extradition treaty and international legal cooperation framework.
