Accused in Barnicutt's convoy attack case arrested

Siam Hasan, an accused in the charge sheet of the case filed over the incident of the attack on the convoy of former US Ambassador Marcia Barnicutt, has been arrested.

A team of Tejgaon Division of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested him from Mohammadpur in the capital around 11:30 pm on Monday (September 24), said Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP Md Jahangir Kabir.

On the night of August 4, 2018, Marcia Barnicutt attended a dinner at the residence of Badiul Alam Majumdar, secretary of Sushashoner Jonyo Nagorik (SUJAN), in Mohammadpur area in the capital. A group of armed motorcyclists attacked the ambassador's car on her way back after dinner around 11 pm. Siam Hasan is the accused in the supplementary charge sheet in the case of that attack.
