Acting President to work from Bangabhaban, stay at Speaker's residence

Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will hold office at Bangabhaban and reside at the Speaker's residence in the Parliament building. He made the remarks during a conversation.

Earlier, from Friday afternoon, the special security arrangements for the President were enforced at the Speaker's residence in the Parliament complex and its surroundings.

On that day, President Mohammed Shahabuddin resigned from his post on health grounds, following which Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed assumed the duties of the acting president in accordance with the constitution.

BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said that on Sunday at 11:30am, Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will pay floral tribute to the martyrs at the National Memorial in Savar, and at 12:30pm he will offer respects and visit the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
