Acting president's official vehicle and security protocol put in place

Following the resignation of President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has assumed the role of Acting President in accordance with the Constitution. Preparations have been completed for his official transport and security arrangements.

On Friday (July 24), an official state vehicle designated for the Acting President, along with a Special Security Force (SSF) escort vehicle, arrived at the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament) complex.

Earlier, President Shahabuddin submitted his resignation letter to the Speaker, citing serious health concerns. Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed later formally confirmed that he had accepted the resignation.
Under the Constitution, the Speaker will continue to serve as Acting President until a new President is elected and sworn into office.
