Action against NASA Group owner if he does not pay dues: Labour and Shipping Adviser

Adviser to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Shipping, Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain said that legal action will be taken against the owner if the salaries of NASA Group workers are not paid.

He said this in the meeting room of the ministry on Tuesday (September 16).

Representatives of NASA Group were told in the meeting that they should arrange to sell their assets by September 21 by obtaining a power of attorney from owner Nazrul Islam Majumder and pay the current month's salaries and allowances.

They should also inform the decision weather to keep the organization running or close it within the stipulated time.

Otherwise, legal action will be taken against the owner and the passports of the owner, his wife, son and daughter will be cancelled.

Various assets were found in the name of the owner of NASA Group during the meeting. These include buildings, markets, helipads, warehouses, land, hospitals, swimming pools, petrol pumps and provident funds in Gulshan-1, Jalsiri, Chandpur, Uttara, Tejgaon, Meghna Ghat, Thakurgaon and Dubai.

The advisor said that the payment of salaries to the workers should be ensured through the sale of these assets. He also said that ensuring the rights and economic security of the workers is the government's priority.
