Actor Siddique shown arrested in murder case

Actor Md. Siddiqur Rahman Siddique shown arrested in the furniture employee Parvez Bepari murder case.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain passed the order on Wednesday (August 20), following a hearing on the matter.

On August 12, the investigation officer of the case, Gulshan Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Samiul Islam, appealed to show him arrested.

According to the case statement, 23-year-old furniture worker Parvez Bepari took part in a protest with friends in front of Subastu Tower under Gulshan Police Station on July 19 during the July Uprising. After Jumma prayers, he was shot by the accused and later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

His father, Md. Sabuj, filed the case at Gulshan Police Station on July 21.

On the afternoon of April 29, a group of youths assaulted Siddiqur on Bailey Road in the capital, accusing him of being a friend of the Awami League, and handed him over to Ramna Police Station. The following day, he was placed on a 7-day remand by the court in connection with the attempted murder case of Gulshan van driver Jobbar Ali Howlader. He has remained in jail since the end of the remand.
