The authorities of Ad-Din Hospital in Magbazar, capital, will appeal to the government for a review of the decision to cancel the hospital's licence following the deaths of six newborns.

Hospital director Md Tariqul Islam Mukul disclosed this information at a press conference held on the hospital premises on Friday, June 12.

He said the hospital will comply with the decision taken by the health authorities. At the same time, maximum importance is being given to ensure that patient services are not disrupted and that patients do not suffer any hardship.

The hospital authorities said an application will be filed within the stipulated time seeking a review of the government's decision. They expressed hope that considering public interest and patient services, the hospital's normal operations will be allowed to continue.

Mukul said the ward where the six newborns died has already been closed. He also promised to complete necessary repairs and renovations of the ward within the next three months.

The hospital authorities also said necessary measures are being taken to ensure that patients do not face any harm or inconvenience when the directive to transfer them to other facilities is implemented. They claimed that, as in the past, they remain and will continue to remain by the side of patients.
