The size of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the 2025-26 fiscal year is going to be Tk2.3 trillion (2 lakh 30 thousand crore taka), which is Tk350 billion (35 thousand crore taka) less than the current fiscal year’s original ADP.

Out of this total amount, Tk860 billion (86 thousand crore taka) will come from foreign loans, while Tk1.44 trillion (1 lakh 44 thousand crore taka) will be financed from the government’s own funds (GoB).

The upcoming ADP will be approved at a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) to be held later this month. The meeting will be chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

According to the Planning Ministry, which has already approved the draft in a meeting, the ADP will allocate Tk1.44 trillion from domestic sources, and the remaining Tk860 billion will be received as project aid.

Sources from the ministry say that the ADP targets the implementation of 1,142 projects. As in previous years, the highest priority sectors in the upcoming ADP will be transport and communication, power and energy, education, and health.

It is worth noting that the original ADP for the current fiscal year was Tk2.65 trillion (2 lakh 65 thousand crore taka), though it was later revised downward.
