Advance bus ticket sales for Eid journey begin today
Advance ticket sales for long-distance buses ahead of Eid-ul-Azha have begun. From Friday morning, May 8, various bus companies are selling tickets directly at bus counters and online, following the previously announced decision of the Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners' Association.
Tickets are being sold for journeys from May 21 until the day before Eid. Passengers can now collect tickets for various routes across the country.
The association has stated that no additional fare can be charged beyond the BRTA fixed rates. The same fares will apply on online platforms as well. It is mandatory to display the BRTA-approved fare list at every counter.
How to buy tickets online?
-Several websites and apps, including Shohoz.com, BDTickets.com, and Jatri, are available for online bus ticket purchases. The registration process for these apps is similar. Customers can book tickets through the websites or by downloading the apps from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. An NID number and mobile number are required for registration.
After logging into the website or app, the passenger must enter the boarding point, destination, and travel date. After clicking the search bus option, the bus name, departure time, and price will be displayed. The passenger can then select a preferred bus and seat.
Seats that are already booked will be shown in red or black, while available seats will be shown in green or white. After selecting the seat, the passenger must provide their details.
Payment can be made via e-banking or mobile banking services. Payment must be completed within 30 minutes of seat selection. After successful payment, a ticket download option will appear. The ticket should be downloaded and kept. A printed copy must be carried during the journey.
