Advance Eid train tickets for March 18 available today

Bangladesh Railway has started selling advance train tickets for the sixth day today (March 8) to make the journey of people heading home easier and safer on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Today, passengers can collect tickets for intercity trains on March 18.

To reduce the suffering of ordinary passengers, it has been decided to sell 100% of tickets online again. According to the schedule, advance tickets for all intercity trains in the western region will start selling from 8am today. On the other hand, tickets for trains in the eastern region will be available from 2pm.

The decision to sell seven-day advance tickets was taken in a preparatory meeting held at the Railway Bhaban recently, keeping in mind the Eid journey. Earlier, tickets for March 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 were sold in phases from March 3.

According to the railway schedule, advance tickets for March 19 will be sold tomorrow (March 9). In addition, the authorities also plan to sell tickets for March 20, 21 and 22, depending on the sighting of the moon. This will save passengers a lot of trouble from having to stand in line at the station to buy tickets.

The railways have also set some special rules for buying tickets. A passenger can book a maximum of four seats at a time. However, these tickets will not be eligible for return or refund later.

Meanwhile, for the convenience of passengers, 25 percent of the total seats in non-AC coaches have been kept as 'standing tickets', which can be collected from the concerned station before the start of the journey.
