Adverse weather disrupts flights at Chattogram airport

Multiple international and domestic flights have been cancelled or delayed at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram due to adverse weather conditions, causing suffering for passengers.

Airport sources said a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Madinah was diverted to Dhaka at 9:40 am on Tuesday, May 26, instead of landing in Chattogram. The flight later arrived in Chattogram at 2:01 pm and departed as a domestic flight for Dhaka at 3:20 pm.

A US-Bangla Airlines flight on the Dubai-Chattogram-Dhaka route was delayed by approximately four and a half hours, departing for Dhaka at 3:09 pm after landing in Chattogram. Another US-Bangla Airlines flight on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Dhaka route was cancelled. Additionally, a Flydubai flight on the Chattogram-Dubai route departed about three hours late, leaving Chattogram at 12:16 pm.

Shah Amanat International Airport Public Relations Officer Engineer Ibrahim Khalil confirmed that the schedule changes were due to adverse weather. Airport authorities are working to provide full cooperation to passengers.
