AIIB delegation meets Prime Minister

A delegation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon, capital, on Saturday afternoon, April 4.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said discussions focused on the country's ongoing fuel crisis, development activities and investment opportunities. Both sides exchanged views on potential partnership with AIIB, particularly in enhancing cooperation in the infrastructure sector.

He also said positive discussions were held on how AIIB assistance could be utilised in future energy and infrastructure development.

Earlier on the same day, the Prime Minister held a separate meeting with top business leaders at his office. Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir was present alongside the finance minister.
