Air ambulance carring Mirza Abbas departs for Singapore

Political Adviser of the Prime Minister and BNP standing committee Member Mirza Abbas has left Dhaka for Singapore to receive advanced medical treatment.

An air ambulance carring him departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:17am on Sunday (March 15).

Mizanur Rahman Sohel, personal assistant of Abbas, confirmed the departure.

The flight is expected to take around four hours, after which Abbas will be admitted to Singapore General Hospital at 10:00am on Sunday.

Abbas was transported from Evercare Hospital to the airport by an ambulance.

He was accompanied on the flight by his wife, Afroza Abbas, his son, Yasir Abbas, and Evercare Hospital physician Jafar Iqbal.

Abbas fell seriously ill during iftar on Wednesday (March 11) and was admitted to Evercare Hospital. A board of neuro specialists was formed to manage his treatment. A CT scan revealed complications, and on Friday (March 13), he underwent two separate brain surgeries. He was subsequently moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) for close monitoring.
