All fuel stations to remain open 24 hours for 13 days amid Eid-ul-Azha
The government has directed all filling stations across the country to remain open round the clock for 13 days amid Eid-ul-Azha to ensure smooth passenger movement during the holiday season.
The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources issued a letter recently to the Chairman of Petrobangla confirming the decision.
According to the directive, all CNG filling stations will remain open 24 hours a day from May 21 to June 2. The decision covers seven days before Eid and five days after the festival.
The move aims to ease travel pressure as millions are expected to leave the capital and other major cities ahead of the religious holiday.
The government has also announced a seven-day Eid holiday. All government and semi-government offices will remain closed from May 25 to June 1. In addition, garment factories are expected to follow a phased holiday schedule in line with Eid travel demand.
