None of the students at 312 educational institutions across the country passed this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, highlighting a stark gap in academic performance across a significant number of schools and madrasas.

Of the institutions recording a zero pass rate, 226 were under the Madrasa Education Board, while 57 belonged to the nine general education boards and 29 were under the Technical Education Board.

One overseas examination centre also recorded a zero pass rate.

The results were officially released at 10:00am at the Education Ministry’s conference room on Monday (August 10), with Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan formally announcing the outcome after chairpersons of all education boards handed over the results to him.

A total of 1,857,344 students had registered for this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations. Of them, 1,418,398 were under the nine general education boards, 304,286 appeared for the Dakhil examinations under the Madrasa Education Board, and 134,660 took the SSC (Vocational) examinations under the Technical Education Board.
