Allegation of vote rigging against Chhatra Shibir
Dhaka University authorities have received complaints of vote rigging against the Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed Shadik-Farhad panel in the DUCSU election, Assistant Proctor AKM Nure Alam has confirmed.
Earlier, independent candidate for the central student council’s career-related post, Rupaiya Shrestha Tanchangya, alleged that a ballot paper had already been marked with tick signs beside the names of Islami Chhatra Shibir candidates Shadik Kayem and SM Farhad.
On Tuesday, Assistant Proctor AKM Nure Alam stated that another ballot paper was later issued to the student who reported receiving the marked ballot.
In this year’s DUCSU election, 471 candidates are contesting 28 central positions, while 1,035 candidates are vying for 234 hall parliament posts. The total number of voters stands at 39,874.
