The government proposed an allocation of Tk35,403 crore for the Primary and Mass Education sector in the 2025–26 national budget. Finance adviser Salehuddin Ahmed proposed this allocation on Monday (June 2) while presenting the 2025–26 budget at the National Parliament. In the 2024–25 national budget, the government had proposed Tk38,819 crore for this sector. While presenting the budget, Salehuddin Ahmed said, "We have started short-, medium-, and long-term reforms to improve primary education. Our main goal is to create a suitable learning environment and ensure quality education for students."

২০২৫-২৬ অর্থবছরের জাতীয় বাজেটে প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা খাতে ৩৫ হাজার ৪০৩ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দের প্রস্তাব করেছে সরকার। সোমবার (২ জুন) জাতীয় সংসদ ভবনে ২০২৫-২৬ অর্থবছরের বাজেট উপস্থাপনকালে অর্থ উপদেষ্টা সালেহউদ্দিন আহমেদ এ বরাদ্দের প্রস্তাব করেন। ২০২৪-২৫ অর্থবছরের জাতীয় বাজেটে প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা খাতে ৩৮ হাজার ৮১৯ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দের প্রস্তাব করেছিল সরকার। বাজেট উপস্থাপনের সময় অর্থ উপদেষ্টা সালেহউদ্দিন আহমেদ বলেন, প্রাথমিক শিক্ষার উন্নয়নে স্বল্প, মধ্য ও দীর্ঘমেয়াদি সংস্কার কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়েছে, যার মূল লক্ষ্য হলো শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য পড়াশোনার উপযুক্ত পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি ও মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষা প্রদান।
