AmCham delegation pays courtesy call on PM

A delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The meeting was held at the Cabinet Division conference room at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday, August 11. The Prime Minister's Assistant Press Secretary Shahriar Pamir confirmed the matter .

The eight-member delegation was led by Syed Mohammad Kamal, President of AmCham Bangladesh and Vice President of Mastercard Bangladesh, who took charge of the new committee for the 2026-2028 term around two months ago .

During the meeting, AmCham representatives briefed the Prime Minister on their plans to attract more US investment and strengthen bilateral trade ties. The Prime Minister assured them that Bangladesh currently offers a favourable investment climate and that the government is ready to provide all necessary support to interested foreign investors .

Commerce Minister Khondkar Abdul Muktadir, the Prime Minister's Adviser for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Science and Technology Rehan Asif Asad, and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury were present at the meeting.
