Amir Hamza's arrest demanded for objectionable comments about Nayab Yusuf
A human chain was held in Faridpur against Mufti Amir Hamza, MP of Jamaat-e-Islami from Kushtia-3 constituency, in protest of his controversial comments involving the name of Nayab Yusuf, MP from Faridpur-3 (Sadar) constituency. The speakers strongly condemned his statement and demanded his immediate arrest and apology.
The human chain was organized at 10:30 am on Tuesday on Mujib Road in front of Faridpur Press Club by the initiative of the District and Metropolitan unit Mohila Dal. Led by District unit President Nazneen Rahman, the human chain was attended by many women leaders including Faridpur Metropolitan unit Mohila Dal President Ruksana Parvin (Papia), General Secretary Nasrin Alam, Organizing Secretary Lubna Jahan and Sadar Upazila unit President Selina Aziz.
The speakers at the human chain said that it is objectionable to make such 'ugly' comments involving the names of female members of parliament Rumeen Farhana, Farzana Sharmin and Nayab Yusuf. They demanded that Amir Hamza immediately retract his statement and apologize to the public, otherwise action should be taken according to the law.
