Anindya Islam Amit to take helm of Aviation Ministry
Anindya Islam Amit, a member of the BNP's standing committee, is going to be given the charges of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry in the new cabinet. He was elected from Jashore-3 (Sadar) constituency in the 13th National Parliament election.
In the meantime, the newly elected members of parliament of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which won the 13th National Parliament elections, have taken oath. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin administered their oath at the oath-taking room of the National Parliament Building at 10:45 am on Tuesday (February 17). First, the elected MPs of the party, including BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, took the oath and later they signed the oath book.
Anindya Islam was involved in student politics while studying at Dhaka University. He has also served as a member of Jashore District BNP and Central Co-Organizing Secretary (Khulna Division).
According to unofficial results, BNP won 209 out of the 297 seats. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami won 68 seats. In addition, the National Citizens Party (NCP) won six seats and independent candidates won seven seats.
