Another shooter arrested in Musabbir's murder

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested another shooter, Rahim, in the murder case of Swechchhasebak Dal leader Azizur Rahman alias Musabbir, 44, from Narsingdi. The weapon used in the killing was also recovered during the operation.

Confirming the matter on Friday (January 23) afternoon, DMP Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Shafiqul Islam said details of the operation would be disclosed at a press conference tomorrow.
Earlier, police said three people had been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Musabbir.

They were detained in raids carried out on the night of January 10 in different areas of Manikganj and Gazipur by the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). The arrestees are Jinnat, 24, Abdul Qadir, 28, and Md Riaz, 32.

Musabbir was shot dead at around 8:20pm on January 7 in front of Star Hotel behind Bashundhara City in the capital. A case was filed with Tejgaon Police Station the following day, January 8. Musabbir’s wife, Suraiya Akhter, lodged the case, accusing four to five unidentified individuals.
