Anser members deployed across 11 border districts to strengthen security
Members of the Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) have been deployed in 11 border districts to enhance border security, protect national sovereignty and prevent cross-border crimes.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Monday (June 8) by Md. Ashikuzzaman, deputy director (Public Relations) of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP.
According to the release, the deployment has been carried out under a memorandum of understanding signed with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in 2025, aimed at strengthening coordinated border management. Ansar-VDP members are now working in coordination with BGB personnel in border areas as part of national security measures.
The districts under the deployment include Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, Joypurhat, Jashore, Jhenaidah, Satkhira, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Jamalpur and Khagrachhari.
The statement added that Ansar battalion members have also been kept on standby for rapid response and additional support when required.
Authorities said the initiative is helping reinforce the national security framework, increase surveillance along border areas and improve the prevention of transnational crimes.
