Popular Indian singer, lyricist and composer Anupam Roy's Dhaka concert has been postponed at the last moment.

The concert, titled 'One True Sound with Anupam Roy', was scheduled to take place at the United Convention Centre in the capital on Friday, June 26. However, just a day before the event, the organisers, Yamaha Music Bangladesh, announced that the concert has been temporarily postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.

In a statement, the organisers said all preparations for the concert had been completed and necessary government approvals had been obtained. However, following subsequent instructions not to proceed with the event, the decision to postpone was taken.

Those who have already purchased tickets will receive a full refund through the official ticketing platform, the organisers said. Details of the new date and refund process will be announced on Yamaha Music Bangladesh's Facebook page within 24 hours.

The event was also scheduled to feature a performance by 'Bengal Symphony'. Anupam Roy, who has previously performed in Dhaka several times, enjoys popularity in both Dhaka and Kolkata.

Anupam Roy gained widespread recognition in 2010 with "Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao" and "Bechhe Thakar Gaan" from the film Autograph. He has since established a strong presence in the Bengali music scene.

In 2016, he won India's National Film Award for Best Lyricist for the song "Tumi Jake Bhalobasho". He has also worked in Bollywood as a music director for the film Piku.
