Appellate Division observes one-minute silence

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court observed a minute of silence on Tuesday to honour the memory of the children who lost their lives in the tragic Air Force training jet crash at Milestone School and College in Diabari, Uttara.

Chief Justice and seven judges of the Appellate Division stood silently in the courtroom, joined by lawyers and other attendees, paying tribute to the young victims. Court proceedings resumed afterward and continued for about half a day.

On Monday, 21 July, a training fighter jet of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into Milestone School and College, resulting in the deaths of 27 people, including 25 children. The accident also left 78 injured, many of whom remain hospitalized, with five reported in critical condition.

The nation is currently observing a day of mourning following the devastating incident.
