Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed said, "The Appellate Division is not looking to reinstate the caretaker government as a temporary fix. Instead, it is working toward a lasting and effective solution for the election-time government—one that will prevent repeated disruptions and contribute to the long-term strengthening of democracy in the country."

He made these remarks on Wednesday (August 27) during a hearing on petitions requesting a review of the ruling that ended the caretaker government system.

The second day of the hearing started in the morning, focusing on four review petitions filed by a political party and six individuals. The full Appellate Division bench, comprising seven judges and led by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed, oversaw the proceedings.

Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal and Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir appeared for the petitioners, while Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman represented the state.

Earlier, on Tuesday (August 26), the first day of the hearing took place on the same petitions challenging the verdict that annulled the caretaker government system.
