The Chamber Court of the Appellate Division has upheld bail granted by the High Court to former Narayanganj City Corporation mayor Selina Hayat Ivy in two murder cases filed under Siddhirganj Police Station.

The order was issued by Chamber Judge Justice Md. Rezaul Haque after hearing a petition filed by the state seeking a stay on the High Court’s bail order on Sunday (May 17).

With this ruling, Ivy’s bail now remains effective in all 12 cases against her, and there is no legal barrier to her release from prison, according to her lawyers.

Lawyers for the former mayor said she has secured bail in all pending cases, clearing the way for her release from custody.

Earlier, the High Court had granted bail in 10 separate cases filed against her. However, she was subsequently shown arrested in two additional murder cases, one on March 2 and another on April 12, under Siddhirganj Police Station.
