Child Naeem receives remaining Tk 15 lakh compensation for lost hand
Naeem Hasan, the child who lost his right hand while working at a workshop in Bhairab, Kishoreganj, has received the remaining Tk 15 lakh of his compensation. The workshop owner handed over a pay order for Tk 15 lakh in the Appellate Division on Monday, July 6. With this, the child has received the full Tk 30 lakh compensation.

HC orders probe into attacks on Bauls, fakirs and Sufi followers

Application to show Khairul Haque arrested in another case
Despite having his bail upheld in eight separate cases, an application has been filed to show former Chief Justice A B M Khairul Haque arrested in a new case involving attempted murder and the Explosives Act under Banani Thana. The investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam of Banani Thana, submitted the application on Thursday. Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Sefatullah fixed July 6 for the hearing on the matter in the presence of the accused. As a result, his release from prison is not happening immediately.
Former Chief Justice Khairul Haque's bail upheld, no bar to release
The Appellate Division Chamber Court has upheld the bail of former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque in a murder case at Dhaka's Jatrabari Police Station during the July mass uprising. The court has issued a 'no order' order on the state's application seeking a stay on the bail granted by the High Court. Appellate Division Chamber Justice Md. Rezaul Haque gave the order on Thursday.
Supreme Court lifts black coat requirement in subordinate courts
The Supreme Court has made changes to the dress code for judges and lawyers in subordinate courts and tribunals of the country. The new directive states that from July 1, judges and lawyers will not have to wear black coats until further orders.
