Appointments of 6 PSC members cancelled

The appointments of six newly appointed members of the Public Service Commission (PSC) have been cancelled.

The information was revealed in a notification signed by Abul Hayat Md Rafiq, deputy secretary of the Public Administration Ministry on Monday (January 13).

The notification states that this order, issued with the approval of the President, will be implemented immediately.

Those whose appointments have been cancelled are Professor Shahnaz Sarkar, Md Munir Hossain, Brigadier General (retd) AF Jaglul Ahmed, Md Mizanur Rahman, Shabbir Ahmed Chowdhury and Professor Syeda Shahina Sobhan.

Earlier on January 2, the government appointed these six members to the PSC. On January 9, their oath-taking was postponed on an emergency basis after complaints were raised about the remaining three members who were appointed with them.
