Chief of Army Staff&nbsp;General Waker-Uz-Zaman has departed for China today on an official visit. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the visit in a statement on Thursday (August 21), stating that General Waker-Uz-Zaman will hold meetings with senior Chinese military and civilian officials during his stay. Discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral defense ties and exploring avenues for increased collaboration between the armed forces of Bangladesh and China. The Army Chief is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on August 27.

বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী প্রধান জেনারেল ওয়াকার-উজ-জামান সরকারি সফরে চীন গেছেন। বৃহস্পতিবার (২১ আগস্ট) আন্তঃবাহিনী জনসংযোগ পরিদপ্তর (আইএসপিআর) এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তির মাধ্যমে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছে। আইএসপিআর জানায়, সফরকালে সেনাপ্রধান চীনের সামরিক ও বেসামরিক ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাদের সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করবেন। পাশাপাশি দুই দেশের সেনাবাহিনীর মধ্যে দ্বিপাক্ষিক সহযোগিতা ও পারস্পরিক সম্পর্ক জোরদারের বিষয়ে মতবিনিময় করবেন তারা। আনুষ্ঠানিক কর্মসূচি শেষে আগামী ২৭ আগস্ট তার দেশে ফেরার কথা রয়েছে।
