Army Chief inaugurates Army International Islamic Institute in Dhaka

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday (August 3) inaugurated the Army International Islamic Institute in the Jalsiri Housing Project in the capital, marking the launch of a new education initiative aimed at integrating international-standard learning with Islamic values.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Army Chief said the institute seeks to combine modern education with Islamic ethics, preparing students to become competent, disciplined and morally grounded citizens capable of contributing to national development.

He said academic programmes at the institution will follow the Cambridge curriculum and be delivered in English, enabling students to receive internationally recognised education while strengthening their ethical and humanitarian values.

General Waker expressed confidence that the institute would play a significant role in expanding access to quality international education and nurturing a generation equipped with both academic excellence and strong moral character.

During the programme, the Army Chief also virtually unveiled the foundation stones of seven additional Army International Islamic Institutes in Barishal, Savar, Bogura, Sylhet, Chattogram, Cumilla and Jashore through video teleconference.

According to the Bangladesh Army, similar institutions will be established in phases across the country as part of a broader effort to promote high-quality education rooted in modern knowledge and ethical principles.
