Arrest warrant issued against Pori Moni

An arrest warrant has been issued against actress Pori Moni in an attempt to murder case. The order was issued by a Dhaka court on Sunday (January 26) afternoon.

The court has ordered the start of the trial by framing charges against Pori Moni in a case of assault, vandalism and intimidation filed by businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud. At the same time, an arrest warrant has been issued against him.

Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Court rejected the application and issued the warrant.

Pori Moni's lawyer Nilanjana Rifat Surovi confirmed this information.

The investigating officer of the case, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Dhaka District Inspector Md. Monir Hossain, submitted the report on March 18 last year. The report said that the allegations of beating and intimidation against Pori Moni and her costume designer Junaid Bogdadi Jimmy were found to be true. Then on April 18, the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Dhaka issued summons to the two accused to appear in court on June 25.

The case statement said that Parimani and her associates are alcohol drinkers who go to various famous clubs and drink alcohol and do not pay for the parcel. In addition, Parimani also threatened harassment by filing false cases through police officers she knew.

On the night of June 9, 2021, Pori Moni and her associates went to the Boat Club in Savar and made obscene gestures with the plaintiff Nasir Uddin Mahmud and at one point beat him up. The plaintiff alleged that Pori Moni physically assaulted her, abused her, and threatened to kill her.

Meanwhile, a drug case is also pending against Pori Moni on August 5, 2021. A drug case was filed at Banani Police Station after RAB arrested her with a large quantity of liquor and drugs. Pori Moni was remanded several times and was released on bail after spending more than a month in jail.
