National Security Adviser Dr. Khalilur Rahman has dismissed reports suggesting he might be appointed as the Home Affairs Adviser, calling them “baseless rumors.”

Speaking to reporters after meeting Foreign Ministry Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain on Monday (December 29), Dr. Khalilur said, “The reports about me becoming the Home Affairs Adviser are false.”

The speculation arose in some media outlets following the death of Inqilab Mancha Spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, suggesting that Dr. Khalilur could replace outgoing Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

Meanwhile, Shadik Kayem has reportedly requested to resign from the post of Home Affairs Adviser.

Earlier, on December 25, Khoda Baks Chowdhury, special assistant to the Chief Adviser (Home Ministry), had stepped down amid discussions of changes in the Home Affairs Adviser position.
