Attack on Nur part of deep conspiracy: Attorney General

Attorney General Asaduzzaman has asserted that the recent attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur is part of a "deep conspiracy" and a calculated plot.

He made this statement while responding to questions from the media following the inauguration of the regional office of the National University in Jhenaidah on Saturday (August 30).

Speaking to reporters, Asaduzzaman condemned the attack, calling it "despicable" and emphasizing that it was not an isolated incident. He suggested that the attack was linked to broader political maneuvering.

The Attorney General also revisited historical political alliances, accusing the National Party of dishonesty and complicity in past events from 1982 to 1990. He pointed out that the party had cooperated with the Awami League during the July Revolution, and claimed that this exposed the party’s questionable political history.

He added that the demand for a ban on the National Party would be thoroughly examined from a legal perspective, with appropriate action to follow.

Earlier in the day, Asaduzzaman had inaugurated the National University’s regional office at the Television Center Para along the Jhenaidah-Chuadanga highway at 10am. He later participated in a discussion at the Government Keshab Chandra (KC) College in Jhenaidah.
