BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Prime Minister's Political Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said attempts are being made to use stolen and laundered money from the previous government's tenure to destabilise society and carry out terrorist activities.

"Those who stole the beautiful morning from people's lives, who stole the sunlight, who stole normal life and all rights to live, are now trying to resurface through various means," he said on Tuesday, June 23, at a protest rally and procession in Nayapaltan.

Referring to the current government, Rizvi said a conspiracy is being woven against the democratic government formed through a free, fair election after a long time. He questioned whether the government has made any mistakes since taking office.

He alleged that elements from the past regime are trying to halt the country's progress, prosperity, peace, democracy, multi-party system and freedom of expression. "That is no longer possible. The people are united; the democratic forces are united."

Rizvi called on nationalist forces to remain vigilant every day and resist all signs of evil activities. "The nation that sacrificed 3 million lives in the liberation war, where two lakh mothers and sisters were tortured—will you allow them to make that nation slaves?" he asked.
