Attempts underway to undermine PM’s overseas visit: Rizvi
Prime Minister’s Adviser and BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that a section of vested interests is attempting to create a provocative environment and spread negative propaganda surrounding the Prime Minister’s upcoming foreign visit.
Speaking at a seminar titled “Bangladesh ICT Industry 2030: Challenges, Opportunities and Strategic Reforms” at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Dhaka on Saturday (June 20), Rizvi said the planned overseas trip is aimed at strengthening Bangladesh’s diplomatic relations and expanding international cooperation.
According to him, certain political groups are deliberately trying to mislead the public and create unnecessary controversy over the visit. He claimed these efforts are intended to undermine the significance of the Prime Minister’s engagements abroad and divert attention from the country’s broader diplomatic objectives.
Rizvi stressed that the government remains committed to safeguarding Bangladesh’s independence, sovereignty and national interests. He said no decision would be taken that could compromise the country’s dignity or strategic priorities.
Highlighting the importance of national unity, he noted that Bangladesh must confront both domestic and external challenges while remaining vigilant against any attempts to destabilize the political environment. He urged all stakeholders to remain cautious of potential conspiracies and work collectively to protect national interests.
The BNP leader also emphasised the need for political stability to ensure sustainable growth in the information and communication technology sector, calling on people from all walks of life to contribute toward the country’s development and economic progress.
