Attorney General hands over office aide to police over causing damage to state
An office assistant of the Attorney General’s Office has been handed over to Shahbagh Police over allegations of failing to submit a case file to the High Court, reportedly causing obstruction in a writ petition related to NTRCA recruitment.
Attorney General Barrister Md. Ruhul Quddus (Kawser) handed over office assistant Md. Imran Hossain to police on Thursday afternoon.
Later, a case was filed at Shahbagh Police Station by the office’s administrative officer Md. Nasir Uddin against the accused.
Officials alleged that the failure to deliver the file prevented state law officers from presenting the government’s position in court in a writ related to suspension of recruitment exams for institution heads and deputy heads under the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA).
The complaint further states that the matter is sensitive and related to state interest, and preliminary findings suggest the act may have been intentional, causing potential harm to the state’s legal position.
Police have been asked to investigate whether any other individuals or groups were involved in the incident.
