Autogas prices hiked

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised consumer-level prices for autogas, following an increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The price of autogas has been increased by 17.94 tk per litre, including VAT, bringing the new rate to 79.77 tk per litre.

The new prices were announced at 3pm at the BERC office by the commission’s chairman Jalal Ahmed on Thursday (April 2).

In addition, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder has jumped by 387 tk, rising from 1,341 tk to 1,728 tk per cylinder.

For April 2026, the commission set the following LPG cylinder prices:

5.5 kg: 792 tk
12.5 kg: 1,801 tk
15 kg: 2,161 tk
16 kg: 2,305 tk
18 kg: 2,593 tk
20 kg: 2,881 tk
22 kg: 3,169 tk
25 kg: 3,601 tk
30 kg: 4,321 tk
33 kg: 4,753 tk
35 kg: 5,041 tk
45 kg: 6,428 tk

This increase aligns with global market trends and the rising cost of liquefied petroleum gas.
