Bangla Academy Literary Award 2025 announced

The Bangla Academy Literary Award 2025 has been announced. The executive council of Bangla Academy approved the award based on the recommendations of the proposal committee and the decision of the award committee.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will formally hand over the awards to the winners at the inaugural ceremony of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 on Thursday, February 26.

This year's recipients are:

Poetry: Mohon Raihan
Fiction: Nasima Anis
Essay/Non-fiction: Syed Azizul Haque
Children's Literature: Hasan Hafiz
Translation: Ali Ahmad
Research: Mustafa Majid and Israil Khan
Science: Farseem Mannan Mohammedy
Liberation War: Moidul Hasan

Bangla Academy presents this award every year in recognition of special contributions to language, literature and research.
