Bangladesh Azad Party launched with 17-point programme

A new political party named 'Bangladesh Azad Party (BAP)' has been launched in the country's political arena. Leaders formally announced the party at a press conference at the National Press Club on Sunday, April 19.

Colonel (retd) Hasinur Rahman has taken charge as the party's president. Kabir Hossain, Emdad Babu and Al Amin serve as spokespersons. A policy-making advisory committee and an executive committee have also been formed, which will be announced to the media later.

The party has pledged to establish a state system based on justice, morality and democracy, with the slogan 'Jan Debo, July Debo Na' (Will give lives, will not give July).

BAP's announced policies and ideology cover various important issues including state structure, economy, judiciary, education, foreign policy and social development.

The new party has announced a 17-point programme to build a justice-based state and establish an India-hegemony-free Bangladesh.

Guests present at the event included Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmad, National Democratic Party (Jagpa) Vice-President Rashid Pradhan, and Supreme Court lawyer Barrister A S M Shahriar Kabir, among other leaders.
