Bangladesh firm on not playing T20 WC matches in India: Asif Nazrul
Youth and Sports and Law Adviser Asif Nazrul has said Bangladesh remains firm on its decision not to play T20 World Cup matches in India under the current circumstances.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting at the Secretariat on January 7, he said there would be no compromise on the security of Bangladeshi players, national safety and national dignity.
He said Bangladesh wants to play in the World Cup and is willing to play in Sri Lanka, another host country. He added that the government hopes to explain its position clearly to the International Cricket Council and expects the ICC to consider Bangladesh’s arguments fairly and objectively.
He reiterated that Bangladesh remains steadfast in its stance and will not deviate from it.
