Bangladesh has ranked 13th among the world’s most corrupt countries out of 182, according to Transparency International.

Bangladesh scored 24 in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2025.

The information was disclosed at a press conference at Transparency International Bangladesh office in Dhanmondi at 11am on Tuesday, February 10, by TIB executive director Dr Iftekharuzzaman.

According to TI, Bangladesh shares the same score with the Central African Republic and Paraguay. With a score of 24 out of 100, Bangladesh stands 150th globally.

Denmark topped the list of least corrupt countries with a score of 89, while South Sudan and Somalia ranked as the most corrupt, both scoring 9.

TIB said the one-point improvement in Bangladesh’s score reflects hopes for democratic and accountable governance following the July uprising, but the lack of visible progress in state reforms means there has been no meaningful improvement in ranking.

Bangladesh ranked 14th among the most corrupt countries in 2024.
