Bangladesh receives JF-17 fighter jet simulator from Pakistan
Bangladesh has received a JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jet simulator from Pakistan, aimed at boosting pilot training capacity ahead of any potential induction of the aircraft.
The move follows the first official Air Staff Talks between the two air forces held in Dhaka in May 2026, where a Pakistani delegation led by Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed participated.
The delegation highlighted the operational capabilities of the JF-17 Block III, while the simulator was presented as a full-scale combat training system designed for realistic mission preparation.
The system will allow Bangladeshi pilots to conduct advanced training and familiarize themselves with aircraft operations before flying actual fighter jets.
It will also support engineers and technicians in understanding maintenance and technical systems, improving future operational readiness.
Officials said the simulator is expected to enhance training efficiency and streamline preparations for possible future aircraft induction.
