First meeting of Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group held
The first meeting of the Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, with committee president MP Dr Khondkar Mosharraf Hossain in the chair.
The meeting began on Tuesday (July 28) with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by introductions and initial discussions among members.
The meeting was attended by committee members MPs Md Shahidul Islam, Md Hasan Rajib Pradhan, Johat Adib Chowdhury, Mahmuda Habiba, Mohammad Nazibur Rahman, Mohammad Mosleh Uddin Farid and Md Abul Hasnat.
The meeting reviewed in detail China's role and strategic importance in the global geopolitical context, highlighting the long-standing friendship between Dhaka and Beijing.
Members also focused on deepening bilateral strategic partnership, increasing parliamentary delegation visits, and expanding Chinese investment in Bangladesh to address the existing trade deficit between the two countries.
