The government holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr conclude on Monday, March 23. After a seven-day break, offices, courts, banks, insurance companies and the stock market will reopen on Tuesday, March 24.

Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslim community, was celebrated across the country on Saturday, March 21.

A total of seven public holidays were declared from March 17 to 23 on the occasion of Eid.

Working people will return to their offices on Tuesday after the consecutive seven-day Eid break. Banks, insurance companies, the stock market and private establishments will also reopen.

However, one day after offices reopen, there is a public holiday on March 26 for Independence Day. Many government and private employees have taken optional leave on March 24 and 25. Following March 26, March 27 and 28 (Friday and Saturday) are weekly holidays. Combined, many will enjoy holidays from March 17 to 28 before returning to work.

As a result, the full resumption of office activities will likely take until next week, with the capital returning to normalcy then.

In previous years, the first working day after Eid holidays sees limited activity in office areas, with colleagues exchanging Eid greetings. Similarly, banking activities are limited except for urgent transactions.

Journalists, officials and employees working in newspapers have also been on a five-day holiday from March 19 to 23, as declared by the Newspaper Owners' Association of Bangladesh (NOAB). Their holidays also end today.
