Big fall in gold prices
The fall in prices in the international market has also affected the domestic gold market. The new price of a 22-carat gold bhori has been reduced by Tk 5,482 to Tk 2,41,445.
The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced this information in a notification on Wednesday morning (March 25). The new price has come into effect from 10am today.
BAJUS said that the new price has been set considering the overall situation due to the decrease in the price of acidic gold (pure gold) in the local market.
At the new price, 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk 2,30,481 per bhori. 18-carat gold has been set at Tk 1,97,530 per bhori. And the price of traditional gold per bhori has been kept at Tk 1,60,905.
Earlier, BAJUS had reduced the price of gold on the afternoon of March 19. On that day, the price of 22-carat gold was reduced by 7,698 taka to 2,46,927 taka. At the same time, the price of 21-carat gold was 2,35,671 taka, 18-carat gold was 2,220 taka and traditional gold was 1,64,521 taka.
